ARC Reader Terms & Conditions
Effective date: October 18, 2026
By joining the WordFolksRUs.com Advance Reader Copy (ARC) team, you agree to these terms, which apply alongside our general Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.
What we ask of ARC readers
-
Honest review. We ask for your honest opinion. We do not require a positive review, and we will never pay for or demand one.
-
Timing. We ask that you read the book and post a review on or near the publication date, using the timeline we provide.
-
Disclosure. Please state in your review that you received a free advance copy in exchange for your honest opinion. This is required by U.S. Federal Trade Commission guidelines.
-
No sharing or resale. The advance copy is for you alone. Please do not share, forward, copy, post, or sell the file or print copy, and do not publish long excerpts (total of 1000 words or less). Advance copies are unfinished and may contain errors.
-
Participation. Acceptance to the team is not guaranteed, and we may remove members who do not follow these terms or who do not post reviews, at our discretion.
-
No employment or compensation. Participation is voluntary and does not create an employment or agency relationship.
Purchase is never required
Your advance copy is free, and you are never asked or expected to buy the book. When the book launches, it may be offered to everyone at a promotional price, and you're welcome to share that news with others. Your review, whether you post it on Amazon, Goodreads, or your own platform, should reflect your honest opinion of the advance copy you received.
ARC etiquette
An advance copy is a gift of trust, and we're so glad you're here. Please read it with an open heart and share your honest thoughts around the launch date, mentioning that you received a free copy. Keep the file or book to yourself, since it's still an unfinished version, and please don't post spoilers, long excerpts, or errors you spot in public. Send those to us privately so we can fix them. If life gets busy and you can't finish in time, just let us know. We'd always rather hear from you than leave us wondering.
